MIR-00 series

Variable dimensions

Blown glass, cold silvering

MIR-00 is a series developed for Terrorcotta Studio that explores the transformation of the mirror as an everyday object. Rather than remaining a flat reflective surface, the mirror becomes a three-dimensional form shaped through glassblowing.

Each piece begins as a blown glass volume whose surface is subtly manipulated during the forming process. Once cooled, the interior of the glass is silvered, transforming the object into a reflective surface while preserving the variations created during blowing.

These controlled deformations alter how the reflective surface behaves, producing localized distortions that shift the reflected image. Small variations in curvature and thickness bend and stretch the reflection across different areas of the object.

Through this approach, MIR-00 reconsiders the mirror as both object and optical device. The pieces exist between functional object and spatial experiment, where reflection becomes a material condition rather than a fixed property.
