About

Anton Pettigrew is a Montréal-based designer working across glass, ceramics and digital fabrication.

Approach

My practice is primarily grounded in glass and ceramics. These materials form the starting point of my formal research. Each project begins with an intention that I develop through fabrication.

Process occupies a central place. The final form is not the direct application of an idea, but the result of a series of tests, adjustments and decisions made in contact with the material.

I often work from utilitarian forms — not to illustrate them, but to put them to the test. They serve as points of reference to examine how a form defines itself under constraint.

My practice exists between art and design. Glass and ceramics constitute its core, but I also integrate digital tools and other materials when the project requires it.
